Sat, 2 February 2008 Wow! It's been a little hectic around my corner of the galaxy. I've been working some long hours and been absolutely devoid of energy to record and be clearly conscious for editing. In the meantime, I wanted to let everybody know about some changes to upcoming plans. I realized that we'd scheduled the interview with Paul Levinson on Super Tuesday, and since I'm participating in my first caucus we had to reschedule. For now, I am planning for Tuesday, February 19th. I'll post a notice with more information once a new date is confirmed and I'll have a new promo that I would greatly appreciate getting rotation in your show if you are a podcaster. Episode #19 featuring author Julia Phillips will be up next with a new Classic Zone following shortly after that. Thanks for your patience! I'll have more good stuff to you soon. Mon, 5 March 2007 The Zone has a new Voicemail service and phone number! 303.991.9096 I tried really hard to get Z-O-N-E in our new number but just ended up with a lot of 9's again instead. Oh well... Update your phonebooks and keep this number handy for the launch of season two of KnitWitch's Scifi/Fantasy Zone! New activity should be getting underway in April! Tue, 6 February 2007 ![]() Well I'm feeling incredibly sheepish finally getting around to making a post now. Sorry about vanishing without a post here (although I did update the main website a while back)... I've had to put everything with the podcast and websites on autopilot to attend to some other areas of life. Folks who know me personally know that this time of the year at work is normally hectic but there were a few new & unexpected twists added to the mix that have had me working extra hours. By the end of the day/week my energy is at record lows and any creativity is laying dormant. Thus, minimal recording and no podcasting for the time being. I've been keeping in touch with a few listeners while the show's been down and it has been great to hear from folks. Keep the email coming... I'm still considering making some changes to the show format and will be adding some familiar things back into the main website as well as the blog and forum sites, so I'd love to hear from you. I am getting back into laying out ideas to start back up with season two of KnitWitch's Scifi/Fantasy Zone. Interviews, contests, giveaways, listener-created content, guest skits and more are on the way for Season Two of the Zone. Category: zone news -- posted at: 10:38 AM Comments[1] |
Sun, 14 January 2007 ![]() Several months ago, a friend set up a space on his Zazzle store to post some KnitWitch's Scifi/Fantasy Zone items. Well over time, we've had a lot of hits from people browsing, but no purchases yet. I'm not trying to make alot of money of this stuff... Enough to buy my own Zone shirt would make me happy! Why not be the first in your quadrant with the Zone Blackhole mug (shown above) or T-shirt. The Zazzle store is an interactive interface so you can mix it up and put the logo on different t-shirt and mug styles to find just what fits your particular taste. Thank you so much to Jake Bertrand for creating and managing the Zone online store! I hope you'll check it out and send me a picture of you with or wearing your new Zone stuff! Fri, 21 July 2006 ![]() It's been a long while, but the next episode is on the way! I ran in to some stubborn and expensive computer issues that kept me from any functionality (or internet access from home) for nearly three weeks. Then add on some time for getting back up to condition to handle production while the last of the parts come in and you get the general idea of what's been going on. In the interim, I had some time off with my family, began working in earnest the business side of things and picked up a couple of wonderful volunteers that are helping me move ahead with a facelift for the website, forums and logo. My sincerest apologies for the delay, particularly to the folks who've contributed to this special episode. Farscape is one of my absolute favorie scifi series ever and will be the theme of Zone Show #4! We'll have a guest interview with Lani Tupu & Tee Morris, music from Signal Room (Anthony Simcoe & Wayne Pygram) and my storytelling presentation of a Farscape fan fiction piece. So hold on just a little longer, the show is on the way... While you're waiting for the next episode, if you haven't checked out the new, ad-free Zone community forums & chat room, you should head over. Just click the 'COMMUNITY FORUMS' link on the light blue navigation bar. The look of the forums will likely be changing over the next several weeks but will remain working and open for participation. You can get a jump start on the Zone's first contest giveaway coming in August by getting registered and posting NOW! You'll have to be registered and participating on the forums to qualify to win in the as-yet-untitled prize fest. More details will be coming soon! Stay Tuned... Fri, 9 June 2006 ![]() The Zone has just reached 1000 listeners today and I'm thrilled! I never imagined reaching that landmark so soon when I started this little experiment back in February. Some of you may know that the Zone is pretty much a one-woman production - the Zone Crew 'volunteers' dwindled to non-existent before the first show was ever released. Everything from building the web sites and forums to arranging and conducting the interviews, audio production and final editing gets knocked out by one person right now (who also has a family and full-time job). So it is incredibly gratifying to see the show's audience growing and becoming more involved as time passes. All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you and THANK YOU for your support, feedback and contributions! Please, keep 'em coming. The Zone listeners are awesome!!
