Fri, 21 July 2006 ![]() It's been a long while, but the next episode is on the way! I ran in to some stubborn and expensive computer issues that kept me from any functionality (or internet access from home) for nearly three weeks. Then add on some time for getting back up to condition to handle production while the last of the parts come in and you get the general idea of what's been going on. In the interim, I had some time off with my family, began working in earnest the business side of things and picked up a couple of wonderful volunteers that are helping me move ahead with a facelift for the website, forums and logo. My sincerest apologies for the delay, particularly to the folks who've contributed to this special episode. Farscape is one of my absolute favorie scifi series ever and will be the theme of Zone Show #4! We'll have a guest interview with Lani Tupu & Tee Morris, music from Signal Room (Anthony Simcoe & Wayne Pygram) and my storytelling presentation of a Farscape fan fiction piece. So hold on just a little longer, the show is on the way... While you're waiting for the next episode, if you haven't checked out the new, ad-free Zone community forums & chat room, you should head over. Just click the 'COMMUNITY FORUMS' link on the light blue navigation bar. The look of the forums will likely be changing over the next several weeks but will remain working and open for participation. You can get a jump start on the Zone's first contest giveaway coming in August by getting registered and posting NOW! You'll have to be registered and participating on the forums to qualify to win in the as-yet-untitled prize fest. More details will be coming soon! Stay Tuned... Thu, 15 June 2006 ![]() I was asked to voice a couple of characters for Variant Frequencies' "Failed Cities Monologues" and the first of those - Sally, a fortune teller from the East End, has just gone live. This has been a really neat project for me working with an expansive story unfolding through each of the character's unique perspective. The Variant Frequencies podcast presents a blend of scifi, fantasy, horror and some odd bands in between from month to month. It's been a pleasure to work with Rick, Matt & Anne. I look forward to unleashing Fera soon... Feel free to answer any of these questions or give me your own original take on things. I want to hear your point of view and I'd love to get some voicemail, people... Call the Zone at 206.984.9599! Fri, 9 June 2006 ![]() The Zone has just reached 1000 listeners today and I'm thrilled! I never imagined reaching that landmark so soon when I started this little experiment back in February. Some of you may know that the Zone is pretty much a one-woman production - the Zone Crew 'volunteers' dwindled to non-existent before the first show was ever released. Everything from building the web sites and forums to arranging and conducting the interviews, audio production and final editing gets knocked out by one person right now (who also has a family and full-time job). So it is incredibly gratifying to see the show's audience growing and becoming more involved as time passes. All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you and THANK YOU for your support, feedback and contributions! Please, keep 'em coming. The Zone listeners are awesome!! Mon, 13 March 2006 While KnitWitch is still working on the show, word about the Zone is already starting to spread & we've picked up over 200 listeners since releasing the intro show! Special thanks to Michael & Evo for including the first Zone Interverse News on Dragon Page Wingin' It - Show #50 and Slice of Scifi - Show #47. If you are an adult (18+) and haven't listened to these guys' podcasts or XM radio shows yet, you really should!
In our crew's humble opinion, any self-respecting scifi geek should check out Cover to Cover, Slice of Scifi and Wingin' It at least once. NOTE: A warning for more sensitive listeners, Wingin' It episodes often contain some F-bombs and adult humor. KnitWitch had hoped to have the first episode out before too much promotion of the Zone was going, but ran into some minor technical glitches, work committments and household-wide sickness along the way. She hopes to have the a new episode out to you within a week. Category: general -- posted at: 11:51 AM Comments[0] |
